Pentel Shines Light On New Rollerball

Visitors to the Pentel stand at this May’s London Stationery Show will be treated to an ever-expanding range of products to help stationery fans explore and express their creativity, including a revolutionary new rollerball.

Floatune Retractable is the next generation rollerball from Pentel. “We often think there’s nothing new or original in the writing instruments category and the market is undoubtedly awash with me-too products,” says Wendy Vickery, marketing manager of Pentel UK. “However, Floatune Retractable is a pen that breaks the mould.”

The ink is a newly developed fusion of water and oil-based ingredients that provide the ultimate, effortless writing experience. “Of course, many manufacturers will claim their pen writes more smoothly than others on the market, but Floatune delivers on this promise thanks to genuine technological innovation from Pentel,” says Wendy.

Once the ink starts to flow the oily ingredients are aligned and in this special composition water and oil coexist at Nano level. The formula is also very quick drying, which is especially important for left-handed writers, as there is less risk of the ink smudging on hands and paper.

Floatune has a dual ball tip that reduces friction, so users experience less resistance when writing and, thus, avoids the scratchy feeling associated with some writing instruments.

The name ‘Floatune’ derives from the fact that Pentel believes its unique technology delivers the lightest every writing experience, that allows users to feel as if their pen is just floating across the page. This makes for the most relaxed of writing sensations.

Floatune Retractable has strong sustainability credentials too. It’s made using 67 per cent recycled material and is also refillable.

Pentel will be exhibiting on Stand M300 at London Stationery Show on 13-14 May at the Business Design Centre, London.

Visitor registration is now open.
