WHSmith has opened its first store in the Netherlands at Schipol airport Amsterdam, the third busiest airport in Europe, as part of the company’s wider store-opening strategy in its successful Travel arm.
Situated in the Pier F at the Amsterdam airport, the shop offers customers national and international newspapers, magazines and books, along with food and drink, travel and digital accessories.
WHSmith has revealed it will open a further two stores in 2020 and 2021 at Schiphol airport. Phil McNally, managing director for international at WHSmith said: “We’re very pleased to have opened our first store in Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. This is a significant contract win for the WHSmith International business as we expand our presence in a major European airport, recognised for its state-of the-art retail proposition.”
