The Art File has announced a collaboration with talented young designer Zakera Kali and her multi-award-winning brand Peace & Blessings.
Kali’s work was initially chosen by industry judges for a coveted LaunchPad place at the Manchester Stationery Show in 2017. She then went on to win the greetings and stationery category at the 2018 Gift of the Year Awards where once again, her fresh approach to designing cards for key cultural festivals such as Eid and Hanukkah, and for the Islamic pilgrimages of Hajj and Umrah caught the judges’ eye.
Ged Mace, managing director of The Art File said: “We were delighted when Kali decided to work exclusively with The Art File for greeting cards. Until now the market has been dominated by more traditionally designed cards and we feel there is a real appetite for more stylish cards that appeal to a younger more progressive audience.”
Mace continues: “To begin with we are launching a collection of cards covering Chinese New Year, Passover, Eid, Diwali, Vaisakhi and Hanukkah at Autumn Fair, and these will be followed by other key cultural festivals throughout the year.”
Card designer Kali added: “I always wanted to launch premium, ethically sourced greeting cards covering cultural and religious events from the around the world, using many traditional techniques, from block printing to hand-stitching.”
“It is a real win-win for both parties, especially as we both share a very similar ethos,” Kali concludes.
