Former Bureau Direct founders launch Nanosphere

Stationery Wednesday, the much-loved blog and newsletter from Dominic and Jo Irons’ online stationery company Bureau Direct, came to an end when the company ceased trading in January 2019.


Fans of Stationery Wednesday, which waxed lyrical about design-led stationery, will be delighted to hear the duo are back, with a new website and fortnightly newsletter called Nanosphere. And it just so happens to come out on a Wednesday.


Nanosphere focusses on stationery, but also ‘dips its toes into the wider world.’ Recent newsletters have covered topics such as geographically themed Stationery Walks.


The first edition of the newsletter took readers on a virtual tour of the best stationery shops in the West End, with coffee break stops thrown in to punctuate the stationery retail odyssey.


The second Stationery Walk shows readers around the top stationery spots in Clerkenwell. No longer just the preserve of architects and hipsters, Clerkenwell is home to several destination stationery emporia. But you’ll have to sign up to the Nanosphere newsletter to find out more.


Nanosphere also introduces its readers to shops or brands they may not have heard of. The latest newsletter featured Kartotek, a Danish stationery company with an impressive line in original and unusual notebooks.
