The Giftware Association has announced its Shortlist for the 2019 Gift of The Year Competition, with the judges selecting 226 products from around 1200 entries.

The judges found it tougher than ever to choose their shortlisted entries across 20 categories, due to the sheer number of quality design-led products submitted. The competition’s project manager, Luke Palmer, commented: “As ever, we are delighted by the diversity of products this year. We are blown away by some of our categories, particularly Ethical Gift and Design & Craft, which have each more than doubled our expectations.”

The next stage of the competition sees the judges attending a live judging day in Birmingham in January, where they will get to touch, hold and smell the shortlisted products, ahead of the announcement of the winners at the competition award ceremony at Spring Fair on 3 February.
